Tools for Schools pickup is scheduled for August 28th from 8am to 4pm at Reagan Middle School. There will be backpacks appropriate for all grade levels.


Class lists for grades K-5 will be posted at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26 on the front doors of each building. Parents will be able to access their student's teachers on the parent portal beginning Thursday, August 27th by noon. #GoPurple #Cantwaittoseeyou

For students who will be onsite for in-person/blended learning, (Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday) they are divided into two groups by last names. Students with last names beginning A-K will be onsite Monday and Wednesday. Students with last names beginning L-Z will be onsite Tuesday and Thursday. We will try to accommodate changes in days IF possible. Please contact your building principal only if changes are necessary.

The District is providing a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) sheet to assist parents as we begin to transition to the new school year. This document is fluid and will be updated frequently. The Board of Education will meet tomorrow at 6 pm for their regularly scheduled August meeting. We now live stream all Board Meetings, and a link will be provided prior to the meeting. Send all public comments to President Wegner or Supt. Empen prior to the meeting to be read during Public Comment. We have limited seating onsite, but welcome the public to attend.

The Board will be voting next Wednesday on the elementary Return to Learn Plan. The consensus was to follow RMS & DHS's in-person 2 days/week blended learning or totally remote instruction. Parents can contact their child's schools if you haven't registered yet, are changing your mind, or if you have any questions. The contact numbers are: Washington (815-934-9660), Jefferson (934-9661), Madison (934-9662).

At the regularly scheduled August 12th Board Meeting, the Board will vote on the amended 2020-2021 school calendar. Students' first day of school will be on Monday, Aug. 31, 2020 from 7:45 a.m. until 1 p.m. Principals will be communicating building specific information over the next days and weeks. #GoPurple
