Washington students assembled to honor local veterans, including Mayor Li Arrellano Jr. The short presentation included The Pledge of Allegiance, introduction of veterans, and a beautiful rendition of "Taps" played by Thomas Whitcombe on trumpet.

Mrs. Jacobson and Mrs. Olson conducting a GrapeSEED lesson with Washington students. Parents were introduced to Washington's newest innovative language program, GrapeSEED, during the evening of November 2nd. GrapeSEED assists students in the acquisition of language in a engaging manner. Teachers, and students, have embraced this promising pilot program.

Mrs Alstons Kindergarten classes took a field trip to the Family Museum. These three boys are waiting their turn to build using real tools and materials. some of the kids tried being a vet or a fire fighter.

Kindergartners learned about the life-cycle of the butterfly by watching the caterpillars grow and change into a chrysalis and then hatch into butterflies. While learning about butterflies, the students pretend they are a butterfly. Student "butterflies" drink the "nectar" (juice boxes).
